sirens here,sirens there, sirens blaring everywhere
I hold my little brother close to me and sing to him while mom and daddy fight vigorously
they scream and throw things and cuss and yell this home I live in is more like hell
my brother cries and I try to be strong but I know that so many things have gone wrong
mommy drinks and daddy screams and I hold my brother while we escape through our dreams
a knock on the front door and my mom runs to me with tears in her eyes remember I love you no matter what baby
mommy cries and daddy tells lies,the officer puts mom in handcuffs,while daddy smiles,hide it? he doesn't even try
I run after her yelling mommy don't go,I'm sorry I'll be better I promise,but she can't get to me because of the cuffs and the lies that started all of this
1x,2x,3x,4x the cuffs got tighter the fights got louder
5x,6x,7x,8x I yell at the cop to let my mommy go but he doesn't care none of his humanity will show
as I sit here holding my brother I sing to him
