Dead Ringer

It's been two years since Maisye Haywood's estranged twin sister, Matilda, drowned herself in Boston's Mystic River, prompting a psychotic break that left Maisye's life in shambles and her mind divided. Finally released from round-the-clock psychiatric care, she's been wandering the country for months when a not-so-chance encounter with the FBI calls the suicide ruling into question and prompts her to finally return to the place her sister died.

Along the banks of the Mystic, Maisye discovers a web of lies and betrayal. All of it seems to revolve around the Cosgrave brothers: Donovan, a notoriously slippery hacker and Matilda's ex-fiancé; and Ciar, a rough-around-the-edges mechanic with a sketchy side business and a penchant for illegal street racing.

The closer Maisye gets to answers, the more dangerous the questions become, until she finally uncovers something that even the FBI never saw coming.
