"There's no greater cause to me, no battle more worth fighting, than the one I fight to remain by your side." "Since when were you a poet?" "Oh shut it would you? I'm trying to be romantic here." ----~---- Sorra has cheated death more than a few too many times. In truth, his cling to life and purpose is all but gone. Betrayed, left alone, forgotten about, and left for dead. It's the same story over and over - told in two worlds, three bodies, and four lives. With the demons relighting an age-old war, citizens in terror, tyranny amok in the guilds and the nations that hold them, and everybody wanting their own slice of the action, chaos is becoming the new standard. Of course, Sorra is trapped in a mountain cave network, so these are the least of his worries. But when he finds someone with a story much like his, tossed aside by those she trusted the most, he finds a new purpose in life: revenge, and protecting his sworn ally until death do them part. Perhaps the key to order in the world's madness is a drunken demon with an unquenchable thirst for blood, but that's only IF he hates the world less than he wants there to be a world left for him to hate.
