Asten Lamaene has been subjected to endless pain and suffering by the Andarian monarchy. But through all of the constant darkness in her life, an opportunity to emerge into the light has been presented to her. A competition to become the commander of the king's navy, involving fleet sailing against many other accomplished sailors. As appalling as it might be to work for the man who ruined her life, it certainly would be much better than being held prisoner under millions of tons of ocean water. Her situation proves to be more difficult when she is forced to rely on the King's general to teach her the ins and outs of Andarian tactics. Will her wicked, ruthless nature win her the title of commander? Or will she be washed up by the competition?
