Kay is 16, a rebellious and entitled young woman as a result of her dysfunctional home life. Pushed aside by her parents after she's released from a Juvenile Detention Center and Recovery Center, Kay is sent to her grandparents in Atlanta, Georgia until she can get herself in order. She is not happy about it and neither are her grandparents. Fed up with life, Kay continues on her road with Substance Abuse once she's under their care and even leaves a suicide note behind after deciding to escape the hell that she's been living in. But, her plan soon backfires when her grandparents force her to start carrying her own weight and owning up to her problems. Kay is then introduced to the daughter of a neighbor, a recovering alcoholic and drug addict striving for excellence in a life full of Sin, Ambre. Ambre and Kay both end up getting jobs at a local smoothie shop, where their friendship eventually reveals that there's more chemistry than they thought. Soon, Ambre's parents inform her that her 'infatuation' with Kay is bad for her recovery and that she needs to break off things between them. For most of Kay's life, she's lost something or someone before she could realize how much they meant to her... But, will losing one thing that makes her happy break her down?
