"Are you ever afraid of being alone?" I asked after a while. A question that had randomly popped into my mind. I wasn't expecting him to answer me, but he did. Jonah turned his face, but I didn't look back at him, I kept staring up at the skies. He turned back to the sky and took a breather before answering. "We're always going to be alone, Rose. Always. We'll be haunted by the darkness that is our own shadow, but in every shadow there's a light." He answered, as if the simplest thing in the world. I only stared at him with a dropped jaw. That was out of this world. Especially coming from Jonah. "When does it get better?" I mumbled. "It doesn't. But to go through it with someone makes it a whole lot easier." He turned back to face me. We stared at each other for a while. He'd always occasionally look down at my lips, and I'd do the same to him. I broke it off and looked back up at the sky. -=- New York City. The place of opportunities. But what shall Rose do when there's so many of them? Jonah, the seducer with a British accent, or Cameron, equally British but sweet. Her clock is ticking. She has one year to make up her mind until the exchange program takes back all their Brits and their New Yorkers return. And so the end-of-the-year party is the final strike. Either Rose chooses...or she doesn't. *WARNING* I began this book (my first book ever) when I was like 11 or 12 years old so the first chapters (idk how many) suck, not gonna lie. I had scrapped so many ideas (that I only really wrote a few chapters of) that when I was older enough to realize the story I had going so far sucked, I didn't want to scrap again, so I finished for that sake in a span of 3 years (and ended in 2014). All in all, not my greatest work, but read on if you wish. Text Copyright © droppedintoxic™ 2014

He started walking toward her, causing her to instinctively take a few steps back. Before she knew it, she was pressed between the car and her husband, with no way to escape. Her breathing deepened as he gently held her chin, lifting it so that she had no choice but to meet his eyes. "Aap mujhe avoid kar rahi hain?" His voice was calm, but the question felt more like a statement. Her throat tightened, her voice stuck. She could only shake her head in denial. (Are you avoiding me?) "Nahi?" he repeated, slightly raising an eyebrow, as if daring her to lie. (No?) "Aisi... aisi koi baat nahi hai," she stammered, quickly ducking her head down as he loosened his grip on her chin. (It's...It's nothing like that) ------ Aisha grew up finding solace in her faith, which shaped her values and dreams of building a loving, faith-filled home. Since high school, she'd harbored a soft spot for Omar, a family friend whose ambition and drive set him on a different path. While Omar respected his parents' beliefs, his focus was on building a successful business, and over time, he distanced himself from religion, feeling isolated even within his close-knit family. When their families proposed marriage, Omar agreed out of respect, viewing it as a formality rather than a heartfelt commitment. A year into their marriage, Aisha found herself yearning for a connection that Omar, still focused on his ambitions, seemed unable to give. Yet, hints of change began to emerge, offering hope for a journey that might bring them closer, rooted in love and faith.

Everything was going as planned in Brie's life till Covid-19 came. She was all set to go home, even got on a plane. But what happens when their stop over was the last destination they would go. She had no choice but to stay with the only person she knew in town. Charlie. Her brothers best friend, who she thought she hated but really, deep down always loved. Charlie had seen Brie since she was a toddler, always protected her and treated her like family. But then he grew up and realised that he was in love with this girl but could never act on the feelings. What will happen when both of them are quarantined together with no escape what so ever? --------------------------------------- "I just didn't think Brian would be happy with it, but now looking back I should have asked you.. Natalie Smith wasn't the best date." He chuckled. "Well you should have, I would have been the best date." I said when a pout, this was definitely the alcohol talking. "Ah don't pout bug. Like I said if I had the courage I would have, but like always I never really do. Even now." He said walking towards me. "What does that mean?" He came close and cupped my face in his hand. "I've been in love with you since fifth grade Brie. I know it's stupid, but it's true. Now I've just ruined our friendship and tomorrow I'll just blame it on the alcohol. I'm just rude to you because I don't know how else to react... I sorry". ---------------------------------------- this story is something really spontaneous, not planned. but pls enjoy😌😌
