The year is 2063. Technology in the 21st century has progressed beyond what anyone has ever dreamt of. Artificial intelligence has become an integral facet of everyday life, from transportation, business, and even in the world of medicine where many pay top dollar to have their organic forms cybernetically enhanced with technology and A.I. for life longevity. But at the same time, this technology is used to create synthetic android weapons of war. Among those weapons, a former Nation's Army combat android by the designation of AX-15. After being critically incapacitated in action, AX-15 was rendered unfit for service and was practically thrown out onto the streets. However, the android had been discovered by a smooth-talking mercenary that still found use for the combat androids' capabilities and given him the new name of Axis. The two go on to become the most feared hitmen in the underground, going by the name "Machina Mortis". Axis, with programmed loyalty to the mercenary and to the contract, suddenly has a glitch in his programming after an unexpected development during a mark which causes him to break from his prime directives and ignite a part of himself that Axis didn't know had existed.

Michael also known as "Wolf" (because of a patch he wears on his kit and helmet) is a member of what was the 75th Ranger Regiment. He finds himself a veteran of a war between humanity and anthros. While he doesn't exactly hate them he doesn't exactly trust them either despite their efforts to rebuild the relationship between species. Unfortunately a good chunk of humanity and anthro kind was wiped out due to the war. But due to the anthros ability to reproduce faster they were able to recover much faster leaving humanity at a loss. Michael finds himself alone and on the run from a one of the most dangerous anthro militaries (at least to humans), known as the Obsidian Front. They continue to hunt down and kill humans forces despite the end to the war, causing proxy wars and often large scale skirmishes between them and remaining human militias.

Within a relative month, the US and it's allies had toppled the Ba'athist government of Iraq. Yet, with the war a decisive coalition victory, only thirteen years later, the United States alongside a new group of allies, being the French Republic, United Kingdom, Federal Republic of Germany, and the Combined Isle Nation would once more find themselves fighting in the familiar sands of Iraq. A certain marine not even out of his twenties finds himself and his colleges around him as the first to enter Iraq as a part of Operation Restore Democracy, just as the marines before him had done only thirteen years ago as a part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Five co-workers and a guide struggle with a creature, a live relic from the past and from another dimensional plane. The creature is simultaneously lizard and birdlike, while also having anthropoidic characteristics. Once upon a time, this alien race made contact with a lost human Civilization in the region. The two races initially made an alliance, but the greed of some of the humans caused a war to erupt. The discovery and cursory inspection of the cave by one of the characters results in an impromptu, amateur tour. During the journey through the cave one of the co-workers, through a combination of stubbornness, curiosity and willfulness, becomes separated. He stumbles upon a cache of interesting artifacts inside of an oddly inhuman room with alien technology. It is in these confines where he unlocks the being whose last memories of human interaction are still freshly stinging its memory. The group grapples through the tenuous caves trying to escape the creature's vengeful wrath. The ensuing mad flight from the cave to relative safety results in a battle for survival.

I based this story on the Drake and Josh episode: Josh is Done. Alpha Squad found out that Chris is a Cerberus soldier and tortured him for information. After he told the truth, they didn't believe him and told the whole U.F. base, making his life a living hell. Soon, he snaps and realizes that he can't trust anyone anymore and decides he's done. After Alpha Squad found out the real truth from Jason Python, they were devastated and tries to make things right. However, it may be too late. Will the girls earn Chris' trust again or will they realize that Chris is better off without them? Find out now. Also, this is a What-If? story.
