Lily was a renegade at ten when her hedge witch mother is killed by a pair of vampires. She is caught at twelve and sent to an orphanage for training. Lily is quite the "handful" when she chooses to be. She was the last choice but now is the only choice for Connaught. So now the question is: which is worse, the Vampire King? Or a pet shop where a vampire can purchase a lottery pet, former candidate?
