Following Tris's death, life inside and outside of the factions have gotten worse. Jeanine is back, and pressing the free into slaves, and the ex-Dauntless into mindless soldiers. Their mission? To conquer everything outside of the fence, making Jeanine's resurrection, as well as her newly formed empire, the biggest threat to the hundreds of families scattered outside and inside of the fence. But if Jeanine can be resurrected what does that mean for Tris?

Tris and Tobias [Four] push the boundaries of their relationship as it grows in a spin-off of Divergent where the Erudite never created the injection and didn't plot against Abnegation. They are taking it slow, as Tobias respects Tris's fear enough not to do anything. But will she be able to overcome her fear? Will she ever be able to admit to Tobias that she loves him?
