The Baker's Interest

From souffle to meringue, pastry to tart, Ellen has mastered them all. Her baking could draw crowds with its sickly sweet taste and smell, and it did. Natalia's Bakery had lines stretching down the block at least three times a month. She kneaded dough and baked huge batches of her specialty gingerbread to feed the hungry customers. All this work left her with little free time for herself, and even less for someone else. Not that Ellen had ever considered it.
