"The relationship between life and death is nothing but a cruel game of maybe. Maybe I'll wake up, maybe I'll stay to the next day. Life pulls you into bliss, pain, laughter, and experience. In doing this, the universe doesn't tell you that life comes with a price, and one you've spent your token you then revel into death. But what is death without beauty, what is beauty without pain. I say this to say that the life I've lived has brought me closer to death than I would've never imagined." Evangeline's entire life changed with one simple decision. Now as she fights to escape a well- known serial killer, she may just find that she's slipping closer and closer to Insanity.

On a warm morning in the 1850's, Evangeline relaxes in her massive Missourian estate without a worry in the world. Evangeline's day collapses as her twin brother and father burst into the living room, chasing after the "family friend" because she did not fulfill her morning jobs, revealing the friend's true role in the house: a slave; brought into the Freebourne's family estate as their property. The event forever altered Evangeline's view on both the idea of slavery and her family, provoking her to run away with Jewel, and instead of the warm feeling of compassion toward her father and brother, a newer, colder perception emerged: hate. Although she still deeply cared for her flesh and blood, her feelings competed as she abhorred her family's principles. Her hate for her brother's Confederate opinions and her will to fight for freedom for all could drive her to take the lives of those opposed to her -including her twin brother- but does that really make Evangeline a killer? [NOT ENTIRELY ACCURATE, MADE TO FIT THE PLOT, it's called Historical Fiction for a reason] [sorry that the cover looks so photoshopped lol] [STORY CREATED ON MARCH 30, 2017]
