As did his relationship with his mother and sisters. He was becoming desperate. People in the town feared him. All he wanted was love. Then Bruno meets Valentina. They hit it off. Bruno is desperate. And his desperation results in an accident. Valentina becomes pregnant. Abuela is angry. They offer to get married but Abuela says the damage is done. Valentina gives birth to a baby girl she names Itzayana, after the moon. But Valentina never sees her daughter grow. Follow Itzayana as she navigates being a Madrigal and deals with the effects of her power. And maybe, just maybe, Itzayana finds someone special of her own.Complete

My life was supposed to be normal. You're born, raised by good parents, go to school, make friends, graduate, get a job. You create fun memories, find the love of your life, get married, start a family, grow old, and eventually, you breathe your last. That's what life was supposed to be like for me. But instead, my life turned out to be the opposite of normal. And so it was for Chiara, Blake, Jake, Rowan, Nova, and Dijon. To tell our story, we need to go all the way back to the beginning. Before we were even born. It all started 30 years ago. April 5, 2003. a class got into an accident and when the survivors woke up, they realized something was wrong. they got powers , they got taken by scientist who started calling them the hollows. It took almost a month before they were rescued by Mr. Knight, they got taken to a secret place where they could live peacefully. that's a lie, one of the students wanted revenge and not stay hidden, so the group seperated. Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. So, now that I've explained a bit about how this all started, let's fast forward to the present. It's now 2033. Mr. Knight has found 19 children, and Mr. Douglas, the leader of the other group, has found 10. That means... the 30th child is out there somewhere. Who will it be? The Fanalis were a well-known people; the famed hunters and conquerors of the Dark Continent. As such their numbers began to dwindle and, with the ever growing demand for Drakonis and Fatalis slaves, their species became endangered. They could not be bred to produce more because each Drakonis can only choose one mate and can only have children with that one mate for the rest of their lives. If one mate was to die, then the other would feel like they had lost half their soul, but gaining a mate unlocks a Drakonis' full potential so not choosing a mate is like a bird never learning to fly. Purposeless. With their people hunted and lands razed, the mighty Drakonis faded into legend and their truths became gossip and the gossip became bedtime stories for children who wonder about adventure and travel. But there was one who hid her true identity, one who played human but always remembered her pride and home from whence she came. She took it upon herself to rebuild an empire for her people; one where they would not be threatened with extinction and isolation.
