Power and beauty, two things humans strive for.

But they forget about the price, the burdens and responsibilities that come with those things. While he could produce beautiful stones, they were tied to future events and current emotions. They gave him away whenever he wanted to be concealed. It's why he opened his little shop. To hide. And to give away the little trinkets that came from his power.

Addicted to alcohol and lonely as fuck was the way to describe Gerard. Drinking was his only friend, no one wanted the weird, queer guy who sold pretty gemstones. People only came into his shop because of what he created. Perfect, delicate items that everyone wanted for personal reasons. Healing, love, sex or just pretty little trinkets. That's all they wanted from him.

It wasn't until the short, tattooed guy with the choppy, black mohawk came in that Gerard actually found someone who cared. Someone who didn't just want him for his crystals.
