Through his life young Izuku's true desire is to become a hero, but he won't be able to without a quirk. Living day by day being constantly reminded of not having a quirk knowing he will never be a hero, it deystroys him seeing everyone else around him succeeding in their own task while he remains in the dirt. He has no choice but to give up and let his sinister side take the lead.
