Peter Parker, an orphan who's been in the system since he was 3 years old, he's now 15 and has no hope of finding a family accepting the fact that he's going to be there until he's 18. He doesn't believe in happy endings, he doesn't believe he deserves one. Peter finds that the one thing he always wanted more than anything but never thought have he'd get, he finally has. A family. But will he let them in? What happens when they find out he's SpiderMan? What happens when he's in the worse place he's ever been in? Will his new family be able to save him? The Weight of Grief
It's almost funny. How grief sneaks up on you. One second, you're fine; you're coping well and then it hits you like a bullet, tearing right through your heart, almost killing you on the spot. Grief is a monster that lies dormant in the darkest quarters of your mind, growing stronger and stronger until you can't fight anymore. Until you can't breathe. Peter was fractured. The monster having grown too big, and without any support left to hold him up, the world of drugs dug its claws into him. And it was slowly killing him, like a sickly sweet poison that dulled the pain while quietly feeding on his soul. He was powerless to stop it. He was too tired to stop it. Tony was doing pretty good. Aside from having died, he was doing pretty good. Resurrected from the dead, check. Thanos dead, check. Wife and daughter thriving, check. He'd never expected to get his life back, that was for sure. He was thankful for the second chance. Unfortunately, Tony was quick to discover that the kid had all but lost his own life. It felt like a knife slowly twisting into his chest every time he saw the kid: in agony. Now Tony wasn't exactly the poster-child for a good emotional support figure, but he wasn't about to sit back and let this continue. No matter how hard the kid fought him, no matter how much resistance he was met with, Tony would help the kid. Still, he couldn't help the fear that laced his blood. What if I totally wrote a super angsty Stucky fanfiction and it was completely out of place with the rest of my profile because I just went on a Marvel movie binge and got ✨inspired✨ That's this. That's what this is. I've just read like twelve stucky fanfictions and now I'm writing one. I have a pretty basic plot. Nothing too original, really. Pretty much ignoring IW and Endgame, this story takes place kind of before/during TFATWS. Bucky and Steve live together in a small house in New York. Both are content with their lives until Steve decides he doesn't very much enjoy being single and goes on a date. The Dawn of X has arrived in the Marvel Universe. Xavier and his allies have founded the new mutant nation of Krakoa, promising a safe and supportive home for all mutants no matter who they are of their past crimes. Mutants have flocked to this new paradise, glad to free themselves of the hateful world they once lived in. Yet not all mutants are so eager to join this new nation, including the mercenary 'Darktruth'. But now a job has arrived at his door that will lead him to Krakoa, and force him to make a decision about what his future is going to be. Note- This is a new story starting off during the current 'Dawn of X' in the X-Men section of Marvel comics using some of my original characters. This is essentially a continuation of of fan-fiction I wrote on the old Marvel boards and more recently the Mickey's Tavern site, the latter where I've been posting this so far. It's a bit of a soft reboot, given some of these characters were left off in places that created problems for this story. I'll do my best to reintroduce all of my characters, and hopefully as I do I answer any questions for people who may have read my fan-fics before. This is an evolving story, meant for me to explore different ideas that are playing on my mind, particularly that grow from reading the comics. If this causes any inconsistencies as it goes (this is probably an ongoing story, with no set ending yet) I apologize, but will do my best to try and avoid that. Also this story will contain mature themes and events. I can't say exactly what it will contain so will give a general trigger warning, with specific ones on issues that dive into particular things. I just know I want to write a more raw story in the Marvel U, perhaps diving into things the comics can only touch upon due to their rating.
