In the near future America has fallen into a civil war which led to World war 3. The war has come to an end and a new nation was born the New Coalition of Republics or NCR for short. Your family has a strong relationship with the NCR, as your family now runs their military and other key assets to this new nation. The new metropolitan city known as "Tyler City" was attacked by a unknown army and and a unknown gate has appeared in the center city. What is in store for you? As a soldier you must serve you country.... or your family in that case.
I will put my own twist on the GATE storyline. It will follow some of the Gate storyline but will be its own story later on.

GATE: Awakening The Sleeping Giant (DISCONTINUED)
A mysterious, ancient-looking gate appeared in Washington, D.C., sometime in the 21st century. From the gate poured out monsters, knights from medieval Europe, and other fantasy-like beings, and they began a systematic slaughter of the citizens of the U.S. capital, laying siege to the White House. For the first time since the War of 1812, the streets of the United States became a battlefield. Due to their unrestrained arrogance, the Empire of Sadera immediately sought to claim the lands on the other side of the gate. However, they would soon realize just how inferior their own military truly was. Once the U.S. military mobilized, they attacked the invaders with their advanced technology, forcing only a thousand of them to retreat while killing or capturing the rest. In retaliation, the U.S. government sends the United States Marine Corps to the alternate world beyond the gate, thus beginning the American-Saderan War. GATE - War of Two Worlds Part 1
Gate: War of Two Worlds. A Gate story loosely based on the Gate manga/anime. It starts similar and then goes on its own stories. It is a story when a alien Empire invades Philadelphia through a magical Gate in the year 2025. The US leads a NATO-led war in Humanity first interstellar war. A Ranger united called Vanguard-7 is led by Major Sharpe. He will have to face the unknown of this world while facing his past and upholding his ideals. This story has original character, original story, original locations and factions. The Gate story is a baseline for a far grander world that I have planned. Note: Volume 1 is a mix of Gate cannon and original work. Volume 2 is mostly a copy of the Italica Arc. Starting Chapter 25 is when the book becomes mostly original with only light story arcs from the gate cannon but with my twist.
