To say the ancient ways of Geldon are gone is an understatement. No more is the independence of the angelic Foren, or the greatness of the elves. Simple humans rose to power through manipulation and force many years before. Although now a peaceful province, Geldon's past is tainted with lies and death. Foren who train at the temple of Rin either become fierce warriors of the royal guard or magnificent healers. Margot Etiron is nearly completed with her training when she receives troubling visions of a dark force threatening Typhen, the largest city in Geldon. She is sent to join the highest of the royal guard as King Leland appears in one of her violent visions. Is this strange force an unknown power or has it been festering beneath the surface of Geldon many years before?
