  Author's Note:

(My focus is not for historical or geographical accuracy but to share a story inspired by many specific aspects of England's people and history and most specifically its Regency period. People, names, places, events, and customs will not be altogether accurate or congruent when studied as purely historical. Perhaps my story would better have fit the "fiction" genre, yet due to my drawing from many aspects of history nonetheless, I decidedly labeled "Unveiled" as historical fiction with the fiction taking more precedence than the historical.)

The ton is full of sheep blindly walking into heartbreak. After all, he had ruined his best friend's little sister for love only to have ripped away from him. Thorne had no choice but to leave her waiting that night in the garden. It was his only choice. So, why does he still regret it so damned much? Especially now, when the lady in question reenters society, scarred but hardly broken. The Duke of Burkeley - that pompous, uptight wanker - declares himself her fiancee, and Thorne finds he will do whatever necessary to keep her out of that prig's clutches. A wager is in order. He'll find her a better bridegroom and then let her go. If only he could. ...but eventually, even the best kept secrets come out... Lady Georgianna is done hiding. So what, the love of her life left her waiting for hours in a darkened garden? So what, the fire chose that evening to entrap her, leaving her face burned? She dares anyone to place her into an imposed exile. Once was enough. With the Duke as her betrothed - the most arrogant and influential of them - Georgie will finally have everything she wanted within her grasp. Well, if Thorne hadn't intervened once more with his ridiculous talk of wagers. Suddenly, Georgie's in a game she can't afford to lose. But, what if she wins? ...Until everything comes crashing down... By season's end, the masquerade ball reveals more than their masked faces. My Cynical Marquess ~ Lords of Reluctance Book 1 by KristinaWalsh
20 parts Complete
Now Available on Amazon or read for free with Kindle Unlimited. If you can I would really appreciate a review to make it easier for others to read. Thank you. Amidst the opulence of Regency-era England, "My Cynical Marquess" weaves a tale of unexpected connection. Miss Grace Preston, an orphan brimming with intelligence and an unyielding spirit, yearns to escape stifling societal norms. Her refuge becomes the home of the Marquess of Rutherford, a man of commanding presence and frosty demeanor. Thrown together by circumstance, Grace and the Marquess clash as he suspects her intentions towards his elderly mother. As misunderstandings entwine them, they form an unlikely alliance against the strictures of society. Grace challenges gender conventions, while the Marquess wrestles with emotions he thought long suppressed. Yet peril looms. Grace's scheming uncle plots a marriage that threatens her independence, while the Marquess is entangled with a high-society lady desperate to secure her future. In a race against time, they must navigate treacherous waters to rescue each other. "My Cynical Marquess" is a captivating story of defying expectations, embracing desire, and unearthing the strength of the human spirit. Will societal pressures break their spirits, or will their connection lead to a love that defies the odds? As danger and passion intertwine, Grace and the Marquess must decide whether to yield to society or fight for a future where love reigns triumphant.
A Lord and Lace (Regency au! Prince Arthur x oc) by kfacecookie
1 part Complete
A wayward regency au one shot I wrote for fun, and because the concept wouldn't stop haunting my mind. ~ Trying to get back up after his ex-fiancé left him, Lord Arthur Pendragon relents to his friends and families idea of hosting a party in his family's estate. Although holding up hope for a new love that evening, he could not predict falling head over heel for a woman with haunted eyes, who secretly hides a crooked and wicked grin and a spark of intrigue unlike any he's glimpses before. After catching the sight of that side of her, and the way her families mistreatment severely dampens it, he finds himself sure of one thing. He's going to get her out their grasp, but doing so might be more tricky then first expected. Miss Harriet Frodesdotter is stuck in a hell of constantly being forced into a uncomfortable, lace covered, dress, into unbearably loud ballrooms, and dealing with condescending suitors that her controlling sister manages to steer towards her. The sudden approach by a Lord Pendragon does make her pause however, his sweet and concerned eyes appearing to be almost horrifyingly sincere as he offers to help her with her family issues. She doesn't trust him, he's not the first to claim to be her savour for purely selfish reasons, but something tells her that there's something more to him, and not in a bad way. ~ Content warning for ableism, family issues (including abuse, I don't perceive it as especially graphic, but it's there) and depictions of meltdowns.
The Beauty Of Rose by yahsss

**DRAFT MOSTLY** FOR FANS OF BRIDGERTON Rose Axel is deformed from the burns she endured from her father. Her face is forever hidden under a veil. Her waist is much too wide, hips too ample. Too many prefer calling her fat. Or to her family, a cow. When hastily married after her father's death, to honor the agreement made in his will, she expects nothing of it. And she is right to think so. Matthew Whitfield is not happy upon receiving Rose as a bride. He cannot even look upon her, as she refuses to take off her veil, and has no features he considers attractive. The handsome charming Mr. Whitfield cannot be bothered by the likes of his wife. She is the fulfillment of a contract and nothing more. So he takes a mistress, and falls in love. Victoria Sill is everything Rose is not. Beautiful, gliding, and glowing. She's interested in one thing only, and that is to hold the title of Matthew's wife, Mrs. Whitfield. She doesn't care who she has to crush to get her way, be it Rose herself. Victoria always get what she wants. Be it one way or other. Soon Rose falls upon a secret that turns the tables. In addition, Victoria finds a way to become closer to the Whitfield name. A child. As the circumstances shift, and the Whitfield mansion is thrown into uproar, will this situation bring Matthew and Rose together?
