Romada and Neiara are happy with their life of pirating when they get the news that tilts their world upside down: the crown prince has been murdered, by a siren. Neiara is now in danger as racial tensions explode and the kingdom starts rounding up sirens and putting them into camps. Their only hope is to hide Neiara long enough for them to find a way to remove the distinguishing feature that marks her as a siren: her pointed spine. When that plan fails, it's up to Romada to find the strength and courage to face off against the kingdom and save her lover.
