Veena is just an average teen girl, half-Indian half-caucasian, living in California. Her future always looked grand: Ivy League college, successful career, stable social life, arranged marriage to a tolerable man and overall a thriving life. But the summer before her senior year of high school, she takes a fun job at the local ice cream shop, and her whole life is altered. And I don't just mean she tries a new mind blowing flavor, or she falls in love for the first time; major secrets are revealed, betrayal seems like a plague, and her whole world is turned on its axis and Veena is never quite the same - but for the better or worse, it's too early to tell.
