I read so many fanfics, and I always thought, why isn't there one when Cal chooses Mare instead of the crown? I'm going to the original plot and twist it. I'm still not sure what I'll do, but at least I'll have a story that doesn't rip my heart out.

***This is my version of what happens in King's Cage. All characters belong to Victoria Aveyard*** Mare has been taken by Maven and is locked up in a cell. He tortures her with words and by other means. She doesn't know how long she has been there, but she does know that Cal isn't coming to rescue her. She has given up all hope.
