Rhyme has never never had what you would call a " good childhood". From her mother's disappearance to her father sexually and physically abused her. All she has is her tight group friends, they all get along so well because they understand each others pain. The pain of not having a mother around. They know everything about each other, to what they ate for lunch to what they were wearing that day. They just have this bound that nobody can break, but this bond is put to the test when they discover that they are witches.
