Akriaen was one of four beasts created by the Goddess Hylia to protect the land of Hyrule. Alongside her sisters (Krekrious, Tallikian, and Sazackia) Akriaen takes a vessel and a name down in the land of mortals. During the course of time, she became corrupted by the darkness and cast down to live amongst the mortals. This story is her most recent incarnation within Breath of the Wild.

This is the sequel to the Chief of the Gerudo and it follows the story and characters from that part and expands upon the world established. You don't have to read the Chief of the Gerudo, but it is recommended. 1000 years have passed since the defeat of Calamity Ganon and the King and Queen of Hyrule, Link and Zelda, hold a ceremony to celebrate its anniversary, but as soon as it starts there's an attack on the Castle and they go missing. Hyrule is under attack by an unstoppable dark force, and only the young Princess Zariah knows about it.
