Carter Reese has always admired Estelle Adams. The way she walked, read in the back of the class, and constantly mumbled the lyrics of one of the top 40 hits under her breath, but his dreams of going out with her are crushed when his so-called best friend, Owen James, swooped in and asked her out. Luck was on his side though when Estelle and Owen broke up for a reason no one knows in the middle of sophomore year after almost a year of dating. Seeing this as his chance Carter begged the reluctant Estelle to go out on a date with him, and things have been blissful ever since. This summer was supposed to be full of romance, but all that came to a halt when Estelle survives a devastating car crash, but every miracle has its price. Estelle wake up and does not remember a single thing about her relationship with Carter. Worst of all, she believes she's still dating Owen.
