This seriocomic psychological examination into the mental health of "The Shrink to the Stars," centers on a Beverly Hills forensic psychiatrist who is either driving himself crazy, being driven crazy or both - by either someone, something or both. After having successfully testified for the defense in a highly publicized lawsuit which saw the plaintiff lose $26 million, Adam Justus Holliman is subjected to not-so-coincidental instances of neurosis and psychosis from his patients, family members, and strangers. When one of his patients, a famous rock guitarist, dies unexpectedly, he blames himself for his apparent suicide. Adam's despondence and paranoia increase, eventually forcing him to become traumatized. As Adam approaches the psychological abyss he has created - or has been created for him, he arrives at its edge; however, he doesn't quite yet make a leap of faith into it. His wife's love and tender devotion pull him back from taking that plunge. Their love is reignited and their marriage reaffirmed. Adam's recovery begins. Or does it? He has no idea what is now going on at his house and office. He wonders if it is all still inside his head. The edge of the abyss entices him again. As Adam Justus Holliman teeters on the thread separating genius from insanity, he yearns to control perception in order to protect himself and his family. Is there a method to his madness, as it splits his personality? Or does it even matter if he drives everyone else crazy and out of his life? As Adam knows all too well: a schizophrenic is never lonely.
