After a great victory in the elven city of Sudegam, Searon finds himself at peace where he can finally rest. Or can he? As soon as everything seems to settle down after the battle and they are awaiting the celebration feast of victory; Andron, a human who was presumed dead has returned with ill tidings. He claims to have seen a large force growing of all creatures as if a great attack was being planned. Included in his sights were a strong and growing force of Nacropi, a new species of giant scorpions brought to life by Necromancers. He claims they are preparing for war if there is any chance to survive something must be done right away. Searon has to turn his defensive ideas to the wizard Karceoles, and the new elven archer he just met Anaela. He begins to develop a fondness for Anaela right away, a fondness that isn't shown from even the rest of the elves, because she is an outcast- being the only wood elf in a high elf city. Normally Searon would confide in his good elven friend Starlyn, but she had an important task that she had to leave on in secret. Nobody seems to know where Starlyn went, or what was so important to her that she abandoned them, and her lifelong cause of finding her sister Arria. Meanwhile while she's gone Arria beings to surface once again, finally coming from the shadows to reek havoc on Sudegam. Searon must decide if he can help lead the elves to victory, or if even the new human alliance with the elves won't be enough, and another alliance needs to be formed, a dangerous alliance.

Gate: Thus the Bundeswehr strikes against tyranny de FabMichGloe
42 partes Continúa Contenido adulto
The world of Aurelia was once a small unimpressive world, double the size, width and mass of Terra, but keeping the same gravital pull of our blue planet. But, tyrannical eyes have set upon the small principality of Matador. Once a grand empire that was both respected and feared amongst its adversaries, stretching from one continental side to the other, conquering and subjugating tens of thousands of people and demi-humans, even the High Elfs, it fell due an unknown power appearing from nowhere, with many claiming them to the worst enemy they had ever faced, worse than the rumored Demons in the Unknown, foggy continent. This unknown force, called the infamous "Grey/Black men", clad in two Lightnings and death skull emblems, only made the life of many sub-humans worse, killing dozens per minute or even seconds. Only through the sheer tenacity and change of situation back home, forced the unknown superior military to conceded and retreat back, leaving tales of destruction and heresy back in this now peaceful world. One hundred years later, the newly emerged Superpower of Atlantia has begun expanding its influence in other continents, including the once isolated continent of Aurus, once ruled by Matador. Playing their cards right, they gained sympathisers and backstabbing people amongst the ranks of the elite and hierachy, further strengthening their hold in the new continent. Ravaged by greed they invaded the isolated Principality, seeking to dethrone the Princess and putting her Regent into power, turning the vast continent in one giant vassal, with its minions doing the dirty work. In a last desperate move the Princess attempts to destroy any evidence of the Gate, a connection to two worlds, the black men's home world, but alas, this failed. Consequently, greed had its price and the Gate fell into hands of the Alliance. How will the other side fare and will peace return in this tyrannic world?

Elves are immortal, except death by battle or poison. Yet, despite that fact, Starlyn’s mother is dying, and nobody knows why. Starlyn loves her mother and desperately searches for any way to help her, yet it seems there is little she can do but sit and watch. Even the elven healers and herbalists are stunned and cannot find a way. Other elves turn away from her aid, afraid of a weakness –an illness- in her bloodline, and would rather her mother die than taint the other elves with her weakness. Starlyn’s sister, Arria, refuses to sit and watch as their mother dies and takes more drastic measures to try and save their mother. She dives into the restricted books in the elven library about dark magic. Dark magic has been forbidden for the elves because it is said that even the willpower of an elf cannot prevail against the touch of a dark taint. Arria is no longer concerned of her own welfare and dives heavily into her studies. Strange things begin to happen, and Starlyn ends up learning of her sister’s studies in the dark magic and is forced to confront her. The elven law states that if you begin in the art of forbidden magic that you are forever an outcast from the elven order. Starlyn wishes to reason with her sister that dark magic is not the way. Her love for both her mother and sister leave her torn to either save her mother or her sister, and if at all possible to save them both. However, if she doesn’t make the right choice, it may condemn both of them to death, and leave Starlyn without family, which is the very thing she treasures the most.

Long ago, in the ancient world of Amor Ki-un, there were five kingdoms of people. Not the regular human you'd think of. Magical people who protect their element. Earth people help nature thrive and people and nature co-exist. Wind people live on moors of grassy plains who focus on battle with strong wind. They have an alliance with the Fire people, to nurture their flames with their oxygen. Fire people can summon a flame and some can even hold this flame in their hands. They control fire and have grown immune to fire and lava. Water people manipulate water. They can only take water from already-existing sources. They have an alliance with the Earth people to help eachother. Lastly, the Mages. These have no specific element and are chosen to master all four elements. They are protectors of the elements and ignore wars between other kingdoms. In a recent turn of events, an evil Mage by the name of Alan Allitwi, has taken his 'experiments' and attacked all four kingdoms. He let those who escaped by means of water, for the elemental people were isolated on one island, and the others he destroyed. His creatures were called the 'Demonic Creatures', or just DCs. Then, one Mage, Queen Lilibeth, overruled Alan in his attempt for power. She sacrificed everything to save people. That was 400 years ago. Today, we all live happily- with no elements. They were wiped away when Queen Lilibeth took away the Mage's ablilties, but in sacrifice, gave up magic- for good. And a young man named Axel discovers something in his old history books- a page no student or teacher had ever touched before. "This could bring back magic! For all of Amor!" When the evil, immortal (unless murdred), Alan Allitwi, discovers this, he reaches for the something himself. Could Axel and his friends . . . stop Alan before he gains his magic back and save all of Amor Ki-un? A while after, Robin's precious rescue had been taken. She tries to get back to Robin. Who might she leave behind?

The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: A King of his Own started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic.

Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. Volume Three of the Ontogeny series. The human world is aflame with war. Nations clash with their neighbours, while the Kelvon Empire, bulwark of the human world, stands on the brink of civil war. The plans of the enemies of mankind to destroy human civilisation, to restore their own mastery of the world, are well on the way to success. The people of Helberion have vowed to defeat those plans, though. Peace must be restored between the various peoples of mankind so that they can combine their efforts against their true enemy. Even while her country strives to avoid conquest and defeat at the hands of their traditional enemies the Carrowmen, therefore, Princess Ardria journeys to Carrow to meet with the enemy King in an almost hopeless attempt to persuade him of the truth. All her hopes rest on the assumption that he in an unwitting dupe of the true enemy, but lurking at the back of her mind is the fear that he may be all too aware of the truth, that he may have sold out humanity for the promise of personal power. If this is true, then all that awaits her at the end of her journey through fear and danger is imprisonment and the life of a hostage to be used against her father, King Leothan. The Brigadier would help her if he could, but he and Malone, his former batman, are far away, each having their own missions to try and ensure the survival of human civilisation. Having completed his latest task, the Brigadier must race to join her, to assist and protect her, but will he reach her before she arrives at the palace of the enemy King? And will the Princess still have a country to be Princess of by the time she arrives there? Because even if Helberion manages to defeat the all conquering armies of Carrow there is another, even deadlier threat waiting in the wings against which there may be no defence...

A Steampunk/ Gaslamp Fantasy Romance set in the industrial revolution era of a fictional world. Magic, mad science, multicultural ambiance, and political intrigue all tightly laced up into one corset and powered by the steam of two romances - one F/M and one M/M. For mature audiences, 18+. ~~~*~~~ All creations carry a trace of the maker's ethereal energy, whether deliberately placed in the magical Artifacts made by the Alchemists, or unwittingly left in the handiwork of ordinary people. Kazia can feel that energy, in both machines and people. She may not be able to do any of the grand magic other Alchemists can, but give her a damaged machine and she can trace its energy to the problem, and know precisely how to repair it. She does have one other ability. One far more dangerous. One she will never acknowledge, and will never use. Fleeing her villainous father rather than becoming his pawn, Kazia finds a peaceful life on a farm in a neighboring country, where no one knows that she is the daughter of Prince Gorvan Devratha. But with war looming between her birth country of Valesk and her new home in Caedra, how long can that peaceful life last? She can be safe in the Caedran capital, among the Queen's Alchemists, but will anyone there trust her - especially the handsome but embittered Lord Kelvaran Meratha, who suspects Kazia's father of murdering his family? Abrizhen is Kazia's older brother. He does his best to play the role of the Prince's good son and heir, but when tasked with retrieving his wayward sister, he must return to the city he'd called home for many of his youthful years. There he'll have to reckon with his past, and finally choose between the life of a dutiful prince, or the welfare of his sister - and the rekindling of an old flame. ~~~*~~~ Please see the introduction for detailed content warnings.

When disfigured corpses begin appearing at random during the night in Baedorn, the citizens of the city-state cry demon and call for aid from Antenox, the order of legendary wandering knights who have for centuries slain without mercy both demons and those who would summon them. The order dispatches Drystan Nighttyr, a man who abandoned his future with the Holy Inquisition to join the order, so as to placate the fears of Baedorn's people by tracking down those responsible for the bodies. With him travels the magic-wielding Akkali, an unapologetically brutal Enkiri whose years spent enslaved to a demon-summoning mage makes her uniquely qualified to aid Antenox in their efforts. Drystan's task brings him back into contact with his old life in the Inquisition and his childhood friend Tiernan Brennan, now an Inquisitor Captain charged with much the same mission as he by his superiors within the Church. After a rather bitter reunion in which Tiernan thrashes him soundly for abandoning his brothers and then is nearly killed by Akkali in retaliation, the three find common ground in their search for the source of the patchwork corpses appearing in the night all over the city-state. They find it in the Shalewarrens, abandoned tunnels crisscrossing the Oribian, in the form of a madman driven by an equally mad ghost to assemble an army of homunculi to face a mysterious threat of which only they seem to know. A corpse-stealing espiri mage, however, becomes the least of their worries when they learn of something with a purpose far more sinister beginning to gather power in the trackless forests to the west...
