In the year 2034, the long and endless debate about whether or not life exists outside Earth's atmosphere is ended. The Stelka, an alien race with one soul purpose, invades Earth and places the planet under an occupation. The planet will only be freed from their rule once Humanity passes or fails their tests. If they pass with flying colors, they will be set free and introduced to the vast universe outside the Milky Way. If they fail, the Stelka choose the fate for all of Humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. After that, the world slowly began to fall to pieces and almost every country made a scramble to figure a way to make space travel easier so they could colonize a planet. But a new leader came out of the ashes and proclaimed they would consider the apocalypse a "rebirth" and proceeded (with his advanced engineering) to clear radioactivity from America and make it livable again. With the help of his crew, he builds a high security city and begins to build out past the east coast. Shortly after he rebuilds NY, he disappears and his advisor rises to power. He is a fair but cruel master (calling himself a Lord) and some people refuse to work for him. These people manage to escape the oppression of the Lord and live out on the wasteland that was once a great country. Some band together to make right communities and others rough it out by themselves, scavenging for a living.

You just happen to be one of those people with the rare blood and you drive in an attempt to escape the clutches of the Obelus. Unfortunately, your attempt has failed, and you are now trapped in a cell waiting for testing. You are their newest subject, subject number 43.
