I ran downstairs in the living room to see all my brothers circling Nefeli who was looking for me desperately, in panic. Ah, I knew the scream could be heard and would make her worry too much. When we made eye contact she literally just jumped on me, almost suffocating me from how tight her hug was. I was taken aback for the first two seconds but then I hugged her back, not knowing what was happening. "Thank God you are safe!" she whispered in my ear, making me more confused than before. I looked over to my brothers who were equally unaware of what was happening, except Aiden and Alex who were motioning for me to wait. "Of course I am okay, Nefeli, what happened?" I asked worriedly. Seeing her like that makes my heart clench. I could not stand watching her in panic. "I heard Alex and Aiden talking about something in Italian and they said something about Mafia! We are being threatened by Mafia?!" she yelled in my face, tears ready to escape her chocolate brown eyes. Looking at myself in the mirror I began to trace the small outline of my birthmark with my fingers. Anxiety began to claw at the back of my mind because of the fear of the unknown. Some of us have many birthmarks and some of us only have one just like me. I was told by my Nana that everyone birthmark had a different but very meaningful purpose in this life. Nana always stressed that I should "NEVER EVER" take my birthmark lightly. I never knew how true Nana's warning we're until this very moment...
