"There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force."

This is the Jedi Code that Obi-Wan Kenobi has memorized, practiced, and recited for all of his years as a Jedi; first, as a Padawan, then as a Knight, and finally as a General and Master. The Code saved him from making a nearly disastrous decision as a young man, bringing him back from the brink of leaving the Order he had known his entire life. But in 32 BBY, during the Trade Federation crisis, he meets a boy named Anakin Skywalker, and his older sister, Petra. Following the death of his master, Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan becomes responsible for both Anakin and Petra, but finds his heart threatening to betray him yet again. He is torn between his loyalty to the Jedi, and an affection for a young slave woman he cannot quite place.

Two souls connected before they ever met. Two souls separated, residing in separate universes, destined to meet and heal together. Anakin Skywalker never knew why he always saw a strange girl in his dreams - one he couldn't interact with. He was only a spectator in these dreams, forced to watch as the girl grew up as he did. He was good at watching. He watched as she slowly turned from a happy, active, passionate girl to a quiet and reserved woman. He watched as her cheeks turned pale, and then flushed with a redness that never seemed to disappear. He watched as the light slowly left her eyes, and she slept her days away with a never-ending fatigue that seemed to consume her. And he watched as she cried herself to sleep from the pain. He couldn't do it - he couldn't just watch anymore. He had to take action, the sooner the better. Something was wrong with the girl and he wasn't going to stand on the sidelines as a mere observer anymore. He would save Havena Jinn if it was the last thing he did. (a/n: T/W - Mentions of Covid-19 pandemic, long covid, and resulting chronic illness. The OC/reader is chronically ill in this story. I have been dealing with my own chronic illness and will be writing based off of those experiences, thoughts, and frustrations. I'm still learning to cope with everything, and I know how much it means to me to have my struggles be seen in media. I'm writing this with the hopes that, if any of you are also experiencing something similar, perhaps this could help you to realize you are not alone.)
