Scarlett is a straight-A high school student who tries too hard to be the perfect daughter for her image-obsessed and materialistic mother who has a dark past unknown to everyone. Scarlett's antics have her being pulled in all directions and she regularly has panic attacks and was recently released from a mental institution because of it. When Scarlett gets a less than perfect grade, she agrees to tutor school bad boy Raiden Jameson for extra credit. Just when Scarlett is beginning to learn there's more to Raiden and his group of misfits, a shooting on campus forces Raiden to kidnap Scarlett in order to protect her from a relentless gang out to kill him and his friends. As Scarlett is thrown into an unrecognizable world of drugs, violence, and secrets that connect her and Raiden in more ways than they both expect, she's forced to adapt to her surroundings and discover who she is and what she wants in life. That is, if she can survive long enough to have a life.
