Cassana Baratheon learns she is betrothed to Robb Stark and as she waits for their wedding she soon realises that what they have is far deeper than an oath, until she finds herself drawn to the Bastard of Winterfell. She struggles between duty, her heart, and what she has always desired.

When she is forced to return to Kings Landing, the trueborn daughter of Cersei Lannister and Robert Baratheon cannot ignore what has always been hidden in plain sight, the secrets of her bloodline. It's not long before conflict between the Starks and the Lannisters causes a dangerous rift between her and her betrothed, and the battle for the Iron Throne begins. 

Her own blood, Baratheon and Lannister alike, become her enemies and she soon learns the price for those who venture near the throne, a throne Robb despises. The lines between friend and foe and lover blur as she seeks alliances between the greatest players in the game and those who share her thirst for revenge against the Lannisters. 

She will discover that this war is far greater than any Westeros has ever seen. However, there is more than one Targaryen. The true king, far closer than she suspects, and preparing to fight the true enemy to the North while she fights in the south. A man she once could have called lover if not for duty. 

When secrets long hidden finally unravel, can the rightful heir to the Iron Throne survive her enemies and a love that threatens to destroy her?
