This story is about my grandfather John Brown . My story is actually my journey of learning about him and who he was . He told his daughter ( my mother) that he was 100 % Apache Indian but he never , as far as I know, shared this info with anyone else but her . He had very dark skin and dark hair , we were really poor and we lived among the poor black people on the outskirts of our little town so I'm wondering why did it seem like my grandfather was letting people assume he was black. What could be worse than letting folks think you were a black man iliving in the south? He seemed to feel that being an Apache was worse.
