A vampire isn't created. They're born. An exceedingly rare genetic mutation allows certain humans to get an incredible high from ingesting human blood. Unfortunately, it comes with some nasty side effects. Lena is a recovering blood addict, and recovery isn't going so well. Her life has been a series of bad decisions and train wrecks, though she swears to herself that this time will be different... **This story is a work in progress. It is, as of now, about half finished. I will be uploading more chapters in the coming days and weeks.

We all are familiar with "Twilight," and "Dracula," but what if vampires were still beautiful and yet more like addicts than Gothic heroes of the silver screen? What if instead of acting like Counts they acted like crazy, addicted meth heads? What if they were just broken people living in a broken world with the power to take like life like a human takes a simple breath? Would you desire their drug, that exciting fantasy of some secret lover? Or would you fear their sickness, their addiction that tears flesh and spills precious blood? Being a vampire is only secondary to the thirst, that overpowering thirst that grips each of them and makes them into monsters. As Malachi our main character states, "There is little difference in the bite of a vampire and the plunge of the syringe. You have the erect point that enters a vein followed by an exchange of bodily fluids. It is sexual, primal, addictive."
