Jayden Clark is a 16 year old girl with anxiety. She was abondoned by her father and left with her addict mom when she was three. She has been raised by her older sister Belle and her older brother Mathew. On her first day of Junior year, she is thrown off by students that were transferred from Northshore High to Roosevelt High. One student in particular, Lucas Myers, bullies her as soon as he gets to the school. She is able to ignore it for a while and eventually gets used to it. She also got used to pretending to hate her best friend, Aiden, so that he didn't get bullied along with her. Everything falls apart and Lucas becomes someone Jayden never expected.

He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal.
