Fallyn continues her journey to bring down Galbatorix but finds herself questioning her motivations and self before long. In order to put things back in perspective, she makes her way back to the place of her birth, Thedas, and becomes embroiled in its conflicts. Oaths bind her future, but also restore her inner balance.

When men attack the village, her father disguises her as a young boy and makes her swear never to reveal her identity. When the marauders discover her, they take her and the other women and children hostage. Erys struggles to survive. Hiding her identity is almost impossible, and once they get her to the slave market, she would be trapped forever, and her true identity discovered. She plans her escape every night but has no idea where to go or who to trust. Her only sure plan of action is to free her mother, who has disappeared along with the other women captured the night of the attack. But first she has to escape her captors. This story will cover the history of the Wyrm's beginnings, how Erdas was formed, and how the Great Beasts came to be.
