The Last Month

"I fucking can't take this, no I can't take her damn it."

I silently cry as he continues his rant about how our marriage was the biggest regret of his life.

"She is suffocating me I swear, it's like she's a disease that's slowly killing me and I know the cure to finally be free."

Oh my God, I hold my breath for what I pray he won't say next.

"I'm going to get a divorce! It's fucking over."

I press the end call button as I hear his best friends agree and cheer him on, like I was some dead weight he's finally getting rid of.
