17 year old Sherry Wilkins has been compared to her twin sister all her life.
She's the best daughter in the world, the best student ever, the prettiest girl in school, the best...well, you get the picture.

All those years of living in her (younger) sister's shadow had accumulated large amounts of jealousy and, though she feels terribly guilty about it, she finds herself wondering whether things would've been different if Gertrude ceased to exist.

 So when her twin is suddenly murdered, she finds out that being an only child isn't so great after all.
