Heirs of the Kings

Elliot hears the repressor bullets shoot at them, feels another shot graze his shoulder, tastes the metallic tang of blood in his mouth, smells the gunpowder, sees the war zone in front of him. And yet... he cannot move. He cannot make even the slightest movement with his finger.

Elliot is the rumoured successor of the King of Magus, the only land with magic that hasn't been destroyed by the King of Vincere and his men. Elliot's been kidnapped by royal officials trying to smuggle a magical child into Magus.

Seira, sheltered eldest daughter of King Vincere, has been tasked to keep an eye on the kidnapped Crown Prince from the land of Magus, and he's in an old house in the middle of a wasteland. Not something that would usually go to her, but it's her punishment for leaving her arranged fiancée at the altar. She doesn't know of the horrors of the war that has been going on for 38 years. She knows not of the torture, the kidnapping, the hurt children and the murder of sorcerers, all by the hand of her father.

Seira and Elliot have to live under the same roof alone, with the boy's magic repressed and hurting and a girl who has never had to lift a finger in her life.
