Juliet Price has attended Redwood High since the beginning of sophomore year, but she's never spoken to Hope, Juliet doesn't fit in with her classmates as she wasn't born rich and she didn't grow up getting everything she wanted. The Flynn family are very wealthy and very famous. Even though Juliet and Hope have never spoken, Juliet can tell that Hope is acting weird and she doesn't think it's entirely because Eleanor is dead. (This book was previously known as Protection) Allison Reed has always been the apple of her family's eye. In all her years of life, she's always been trying to know what life is all about. However it doesn't help having older, twin brothers who make it their personal job description to keep her from heartbreak until she reaches the ripe old age of 25. Wesley Parker comes into the picture. A seemingly normal guy with ripped jeans and an overall badass aura, but a sweet guy beneath the facade. But Wesley isn't your ordinary teenager, no. He's fluent in many languages, is well trained in multiple forms of martial arts, has never achieved anything less than an "A" for any test or exam, is able to go through Navy Seal obstacle courses flawlessly within 6 minutes, and has the ability to shoot smiley faces on targets from 500 yards away. He's the top student of Holmes Academy, an elite but excellent school under the protection of the CIA. The school trains underprivileged or neglected teenagers and kids who can choose to continue serving the CIA, or take their knowledge elsewhere. He's the only person capable of protecting Allie when her brothers are called in by the police to take down one of New York's most notorious criminals, Garrett Baker, who is deluded into thinking that Allison Reed is his long lost daughter and is hell bent on bringing her home. And how else can he protect her but to move into her home? And can he keep it a secret that he's not who she thinks he is?

There are two things Harper Lynch wasn't expecting when she made out with an attractive stranger at her aunt's wedding. One: He would show up on her doorstep two weeks later as the son of an old family friend. Two: That he would be staying in her house, right next door to her. If living together isn't enough, Duke starts to go to Harper's school for the year, and immediately earns the status of the senior heartthrob. Suddenly, Harper, the girl who keeps mostly to herself and spends a lot of time in her room watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathons, is the envy of every girl in her high school. Harper couldn't care less, and despite that fact that she has insisted that she has in no interest in Duke, she is still subject to the wrath of jealous, catty bitches and the admiration of wide-eyed freshmen. It really doesn't help that Duke is constantly flirting with her in his own irritating yet charming way. Harper refuses to be yet another conquest, but is that what Duke wants? Or does he want more?
