Holden Mann has his head in the clouds, drifting from one crazy idea to another, and never settling in one place. Professors, parents, and even his girlfriend have stopped believing he will get his act together. When Holden finds a door to a magical world, he doesn't think twice before stepping through. What he finds is a world where 99.9% of the population has died, and those that remain are struggling to survive in a desolate wasteland of leftover magic.
