It is a tale of a forgotten diamond which was the first ever gem in the whole universe. Black Diamond got cracked by other diamond in the process because of their fight of taking other planets for their own. She got trapped in a bubble and been put in the basement at the diamond castle (or something like that). Later, in a few decades they made Pink Diamond for the replacement of Black Diamond. Then here is where the Steven Universe series began, without even mentioning of the poor black diamond. She was freed by the future villain in the movie because that gem who was the villain in the movie was first the slave of the diamonds. So he just let it happen even though it was hurting when his gem was rotating but white diamond said that it might take awhile for it to rotate. So he was just walking around in pain but doesn't let it affect him and he didn't tell the gems of the new changes yet.
