When Rwafa dared himself to join the Chimurenga to help free modern-day Zimbabwe, he had gone against the will of his two weeks bride and followed his intuition. He had been wooed by the freedom fighters to join the struggle and he had gone there unprepared for the violence that soon greeted him on arrival. Now a year has passed, freedom has been won but he is forever changed and can't bring himself to face his bride.

Back in Svove village, Ruva has kept faith that her husband Rwafa would soon return to her as promised. When a year passes without a letter from him, she still kept her faith in his coming back home to her. Optimism could only carry one so far as Ruva soon finds herself thrown in an arranged marriage with a man who looks like Rwafa but differs strongly from Rwafa.

Having spent a year pleading with his father to let bygones be bygones, Simba finds himself running out of time to save his brother's bride. He and his cousin Chamu, formulate a plan to win Ruva's hand as he sees himself as the lesser evil among his brood of cousins lined up to marry her. What he didn't bargain for was falling in love with her and coming face to face with his long lost brother for Ruva's love.

Join me here every Sunday to unfold the story of Ruva, Rwafa, and Simba. A story of love that can't be divided equally among three, with insecurities that threaten to divide a family, traditions so barbaric they will make you thank the heavens for being born in a better era.

"You're my hero, Superwoman," he said, his voice rough like gravel - like he wasn't used to saying anything soft. I smiled, his gaze steady as I tied the last strip of the bandage around his shoulder. "How come my superpowers don't work on you and me?" I asked, quietly, like it wasn't already eating me alive. He didn't flinch. "Maybe they don't work on people who already belong to you." His callused hand brushed my cheek. My chest ached. "Sukhala mama, ungowami wena." And the tears came. Because I'd asked him to fake love me. And now I didn't know where the lie ended and the truth began. He said "mama." inqondo yagoloza, intliziyo yavuma. (my brain said no, but my heart said yes) Ngewami Mamba is a force-an award-winning gynecologist, tech mogul, and humanitarian with a passport full of stamps and a bank account in pounds, not rands. She's the woman every man wants and every woman envies. But when her younger sister announces an unexpected engagement, Ngewami's perfectly curated world tilts off its axis. She was supposed to be first. The wife. The bride. The standard. Now, with the spotlight slipping and her ego bruised, Ngewami will stop at nothing to beat her sister to the altar-even if it means faking a relationship with the one kind of man she's always sworn off: A Zulu man. Sharp-tongued, emotionally armored, and unapologetically ambitious, Ngewami isn't looking for love-she's looking for a win. But love has a twisted sense of humor. And it just might be written in bold, bloody Zulu.

Arrange marriage, I hated to even hear about it. But my fate didn't favour me. Being from a conservative family, I was forced into an arranged marriage. I was forced to see guys which my family chose for me. I persuaded them to reject me and luckily they did reject me too. But then he came. He was somehow different from the previous guys that I had met. Never mind I tried persuading him too but I ended up making a deal with him. "We will marry each other and will be living under a same roof but we won't practically be husband and wife. Neither will I control you nor will you control me. Or let's just say we can be roommates." That was our deal. And this one deal changed my life forever. **** ~A love after marriage story~ It isn't as simple as you think.
