Sofia Francesca is the youngest member of the Corleone family. She is smart, she is driven, she is capable, and she is loved.
Until Tony Buratti.
Through bloodshed, sex, lies, tears, and blasphemy... can the Corleones forgive one another their sins?
"Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
-Ephesians 4:31-32
Trigger warnings for sexual assault and violence against women, as well as graphic depictions of murder and violence. Particularly upsetting chapters will always have warnings as a preface.
Important notes:
•Some dates and canonical elements established in the Godfather series (both Mario Puzo's novels and Francis Ford Coppola's films) have been changed in order to better suit the timeline and plot of "I Do Renounce Them".
•All of the major characters in this story except for Sofia Corleone were created and curated by Mario Puzo, Francis Ford Coppola, and the actors who portrayed them. The way I write them in this story is intended to closely resemble their personality traits and thought processes in the series, but because of very critical changed circumstances in this alternate universe, some of their world views and actions will differ from what I see as being their canonical world views and actions.
•This story is for entertainment purposes only, and it is intended to be a rewritten version of what occurs in the Godfather universe, or rather, what would happen in the Godfather universe if Vito Corleone's youngest daughter were a woman like Sofia Corleone.
CONSUMED series: BOOK 2
Danté
Being the youngest son of Luciano Matteo DeLuca-the infamous Sicilian Mafia kingpin-meant my fate was sealed from birth. My father ensured my brother and I were groomed to uphold his empire, leaving no detail unchecked, no lesson unlearned.
But what he never saw coming? My defiance and hunger for a different life. A future that included her.
Mia Ferilli-my childhood friend and greatest temptation. The one thing I could never claim. The pull between us was magnetic, but friendship was all we ever allowed ourselves. Even though I craved more.
Then, in a single catastrophic moment, everything shattered. Forced to flee Italy, I leave behind Mia. The only person who ever truly saw me.
A decade later, the ghosts of my past refuse to rest. Especially the thoughts of the girl I abandoned and the what-ifs. Then betrayals come to light, fueling vengeance I can't ignore.
Mia
I despise everything the mafia stands for. The violence, power struggles and bloodstained legacy. Yet, I made the mistake of falling for the one man I could never have. Danté DeLuca.
I'm drawn in by those stormy grey eyes and the rare moments of tenderness he reserves only for me. He's my greatest weakness and my impossible dream.
But one glaring truth...
I'm nothing.
Just the head housekeeper's daughter with no title, no power. And certainly no place in a world ruled by men like him.
