NOT the Best Friend to Lover's Trope
Daisy Hawthorne has always believed in love stories. Not just any love stories-tropes. Enemies to lovers, second chances, slow burn... she's studied them all, convinced that one day she'll get her own happily ever after. And she's certain she already knows who it's with: her best friend, Sam Monroe. It's been written in the stars since childhood. Right?
Except real life doesn't follow the script. Sam isn't noticing her in the way he's supposed to. Their story is stalling, falling apart, refusing to hit the beats Daisy knows by heart. And then Johnny Reeds shows up-messy, magnetic, maddening Johnny. The school's so-called bad boy who has never once belonged in the version of her story she imagined.
But the more Daisy tries to shove Johnny out of her narrative, the more he writes himself into it-unexpected moments, stolen banter, sparks she can't ignore. It's not the trope she wanted, but it might be the one she needs.
