The world of Meta-humans and Humans has finally reached a state of peace as the looming shadow of their threat has subsided into a festering new nation of hate who lies in wait to plot their next move. The Legion does not stop their reign of terror however, snatching meta-human children and promising human and meta-human individuals for experimentation and brainwashing for recruitment, never returning. Alexander Williams, a victim of Legion, managed to escape his personal hell and back to the United States, heading back to his hometown of Serenity, Georgia after seven years of The Legion's attempts to indoctrinate him to their cause.

Ending up getting rescued by a friendly face who he had managed to save before his capture, he travels to a combat academy for Meta-humans and those who have extreme talents. Due to the nature of Alex's powers and genetic structure as a meta-human, the academy known as Guardian will have a special agenda for him. Despite his wants for a normal life, Alex gets pressured into leadership and will eventually find a new family among his peers, hiding his past from them and attempting to live in temporary bliss.

This not lasting for long, he and his fellow students are thrown into the fray of war and conflicts arise between him and his newfound friends as he battles himself on how he could learn to trust when he was so broken and still be the leader he needs to be. Secrets will be unlocked to the meta-human origin and tensions in Guardian will erupt to the surface. The battle for New York ensues and so does the battle to fix his soul.

Centuries later, Alexandra, a twenty-two-year-old barista living in Boston, is taken to an unfamiliar realm of mystery and magic where her life is threatened by Reylor, its banished Lord Steward. She crosses paths with Treyan, the arrogant and seductive Crown Prince of the Empire, and together they discover how their lives, and their love, are so intricately intertwined by a Prophecy set in motion so many years ago. Alex, now the predestined Queen Empress Alexstrayna, whose arrival was foretold by the Annals of the Empire, controls the fate of her new home as war rages between the Crown Prince and Lord Steward. Either choice could tear her world apart as she attempts to keep the Empire's torrid history from repeating itself. Homeland by CoryDoctorow
24 parts Complete
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER -- In Cory Doctorow’s wildly successful Little Brother, young Marcus Yallow was arbitrarily detained and brutalized by the government in the wake of a terrorist attack on San Franciscoβ€”an experience that led him to become a leader of the whole movement of technologically clued-in teenagers, fighting back against the tyrannical security state. A few years later, California's economy collapses, but Marcus’s hacktivist past lands him a job as webmaster for a crusading politician who promises reform. Soon his former nemesis Masha emerges from the political underground to gift him with a thumbdrive containing a Wikileaks-style cable-dump of hard evidence of corporate and governmental perfidy. It’s incendiary stuffβ€”and if Masha goes missing, Marcus is supposed to release it to the world. Then Marcus sees Masha being kidnapped by the same government agents who detained and tortured Marcus years earlier. Marcus can leak the archive Masha gave himβ€”but he can’t admit to being the leaker, because that will cost his employer the election. He’s surrounded by friends who remember what he did a few years ago and regard him as a hacker hero. He can’t even attend a demonstration without being dragged onstage and handed a mike. He’s not at all sure that just dumping the archive onto the Internet, before he’s gone through its millions of words, is the right thing to do. Meanwhile, people are beginning to shadow him, people who look like they’re used to inflicting pain until they get the answers they want. Fast-moving, passionate, and as current as next week, Homeland is every bit the equal of Little Brotherβ€”a paean to activism, to courage, to the drive to make the world a better place.
