The Greek myth of Apollo and Daphne is a simple one. The god Apollo was struck by a vengeful arrow from Eros. The arrow caused an uncontrollable and passionate love for the water nymph Daphne. Unbeknownst to Apollo, Eros struck Daphne with an arrow as well, unlike the one in his own heart. This leaded arrow left a passionate hatred for Apollo growing deep inside Daphne's heart. 

Apollo chased after her relentlessly. Daphne pleaded with her father to save her from Apollo's pursuit. He listened to her cries and transformed her into a laurel tree, leaving Apollo completely and devastatingly heartbroken. 

This is not a retelling of that story. This is a story of what happened after.
