      Shade Donnabell dies at 15 by a drive by shooting and is made an offer by a man with ice blue eyes to become a shadow. After refusing him he threatens to send her to hell, she makes a deal with him to help a cursed to die young child live past the danger that looms in the future in trade to be lead to the light. Taking the offer thinking it as an easy way to go back to the living she's given a silver scepter with a sapphire stone filled with magic and is set to become the 5 year old adopted little sister of the cursed child along with the raven shifter, Raven.

If Shade fails to save the child she must become A Shadow: A ghost used to take away a persons self pity and doubt making it their own.

But was Shade's death really a just bad timing? 

Or was it planned? 

And Could the same person be after her charge Willow?

Add this along with a Shadow Lord constant "reminders" of what will happen if she fails Shades in for a terror run!
