When Kion is faced with a mysterious illness, Queen Rani becomes depressed at the fact that the one she loves might die and is unable to attend her royal duties. With the crown entrusted to her close friend, Fuli does her best to keep the Rani and Kion's kingdom at peace. One night Rani runs away to be alone but the next morning she is found dead. All animals turn to Fuli to guidance but she can barely cope with the death of her friend as she desperately tries to find a way to save Kion which can only be found in her memories. The pair must take on the challenge of leading the kingdom without Rani for neither of them can do it alone. They must overcome any challenge they are faced with as well as learn to work together as a king and queen should. Despite the many challenges, Kion and Fuli try to hide any unwanted feeling towards the other as well as their friends as they soon discover the cause of Rani's death is more than what meets the eye.
