I always lived for the moments my father would tell me I could not do something... then I would go ahead and do it.
That had been my entire life.
Maybe he was just really angry at me. Or maybe he just hated having a daughter who didn't measure up to his standards. After all, he was a frigging billionaire genius while I was, well, me.
So he told me that no matter how hard I tried, I could never isolate myself in my own little corner of the world. My mother shook her head at his jab. My brother held me back as my eyes narrowed in anger.
"I'll prove you wrong dad. Like I always did."

Then I went off, passport ready, shoes tied, clothes and everything a girl like me needed in my bags, and with my heart on my sleeve, I went to one of the most desolate places on earth and I turned it into my own thing.
