A cold, dark laugh filled the room, sending a shiver down my spine. "My, my, look how afraid you are, my Sera," he mocked. I could feel him getting closer, his presence suffocating. Suddenly, he yanked my hair back, hard. I screamed in pain, but I refused to open my eyes. "Be my good girl and open your eyes, Seraphina," he commanded, his voice low and dangerous. "Never," I growled in defiance. I couldn't believe the Moon Goddess had mated me to this monster. I despised him. Every inch of my soul hated him. "Give me all the pain you want, but I will never obey you," I spat, my voice filled with hatred. He chuckled darkly. "Then, as you wish," he murmured. I barely had time to process his words before sharp pain pierced my neck. His fangs sank into my flesh with full force, tearing through my skin.
